Quit Smoking Today And Live Longer

Why should you quit smoking today?
I’m sure you know that there are many reasons why you should quit smoking and you may thought about these reasons many times. I’m not going to sit here and tell you that it will be easy to quit. However, what I will tell you is it is definitely better for your health to quit smoking than to smoke, and that quitting may add years to your life.

There are a multitude of reasons why to quit smoking but of course you will have to have that desire and commitment to quit for yourself if you really want to quit smoking.  The truth of the matter is that many smoking do not want to quit and they will not quit no matter what they are told. However, I am sure that you do want to quit (else you would not have liked this page in the first place) so I will try to help you by discussing the three main reasons to quit smoking and maybe one or all of these reasons will help support your commitment and decision to quit.

Medical reasons are widely publicised in media such as TV. The most important medical reason is the health of your heart. Your heart is the centre of your body working and the more you smoke the more you put strain on it. The final outcome is that you could end up having a stroke or heart attack. Another good medical reason is that smoking affects your lungs by making it harder to breathe, which makes it harder to exercise and can cause cancer of the throat and lungs.

Employability can be affected by smoking too. In the last few years there has been a trend by businesses to only employ non-smokers instead of just qualified candidates who may also smoke. This is because non-smokers are more productive since they would not be wasting time stepping outside for a cigarette.  Furthermore, some companies do not want their public image to be of their employees outside smoking because it may look unprofessional to their clients.

Family may actually be the most important reason to quit smoking out of the three stated here. Some members of your immediate family who may have health risks, like asthma, could have these issues exacerbated from you smoking around them. Especially newborn babies are highly susceptible because their heart and lungs are not strong enough to counter the negative effects of second hand smoke.
