Three Components To Successfully Quit Smoking

Success starts with a burning desire to be successful and the faith to believe you can succeed no matter what happens. When you have these two components, you must make a commitment that you will persist until you reach your goal in whatever part of life.

You can apply this to quit smoking cigarettes. Everyone has a desire to quit smoking because they know it’s unhealthy and saves them money in the long run. However most of the time people don’t believe deep down that they can quit. Even if they do believe they can quit and have that burning desire to quit smoking you will see many people lack the commitment to stay on course. It’s much easier to go back to your old, familiar habits you are used to.
So, first must have the desire to quit smoking. This can come from many different places. Some people use the fact that smoking is simply unhealthy can lead to many problems in the long run. Some people may have relatives who have died due to the effects of chain smoking.

Secondly, you must have the faith and deep belief in yourself that you can quit smoking. Remind yourself everyday of people you know in your life who have put down cigarettes. If you don’t know any then ask around. Many people you meet everyday used to be smokers at some point in time. Ask them how they did it. When you have this faith to quit smoking cigarettes, you will have two of the three components needed.

Finally you must be committed to stay on course (persistence). You must commit to yourself, family and your friends that you are quitting smoking. Every time you get the urge, have a solution that is pre-planned that you can take action on immediately. Whatever it is, you need to figure it out and do it now!
With these three components you will succeed when you want to quit smoking and with everything in life.
